Travel information

The conference is taking place at Son Spa Hotel, a 40 minute drive outside Oslo, Norway. Below you will find som useful links to online travel information. Please contact Janet Skallerud at if you have specific questions about your travel.

Transport to Norway

The normal route for international delegates is to fly to either Oslo Airport Gardermoen or to Rygge Airport. From the airport you can use public transportation or taxi. Some local delegates may want to get to the conference by car. You can find useful information about transport to and from Norway at visitoslo.com.

We are planning to offer bus transportation for all delegates from Son to Oslo on Friday after the conference. From Oslo to Gardermoen it is only 30 minute by train.

Airports

Oslo Airport Gardermoen

Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) is 100 km from Son and the main airport for the Oslo region. Gardermoen is a destination for many airlines. You can get from Gardermoen to Son by train or bus via Oslo and Sonsveien station.

Rygge Airport

Rygge Airport (RYG) is 20 km from Son and is a destination for Danish Air Transport, Norwegian Air Shuttle, and Ryanair. You can get from Rygge to Son by taxi or bus via Sonsveien station.

Torp Airport

Sandefjord Airport Torp (TRF) is only 60 km from Son, but situated at the west side of the Oslo fjord. It is therefore hard to get from Torp to Son by public transportation. The best route is by bus and ferry via Horten and Moss. Torp is a destination for Norwegian Air Shuttle, Ryanair, Widerøe, and Wizz Air.

Train

This is one of the most affordable ways to get from Gardermoen Airport to Son. The local train station for Son is Sonsveien station. You can access the timetable via NSB's homepage at www.nsb.no. Also the fastest way to travel between Gardermoen and Oslo is by the Airport Express train at www.flytoget.no.

Bus

A private bus service NOR-WAY bussekspress www.nor-way.no departs from both Gardermoen and Rygge airports, stopping at Sonsveien station. Information about public transportation within Norway can be found at www.rutebok.no. Timetable for local transportation can be also be found at www.ruter.no.

From Sonsveien station to the hotel you can take local bus "932" and exit at "Brevikbukta" or you can call the local taxi service (Follo taxi). The telephone number is 06485.

Taxi

Taxi may be convenient for delegates flying into Rygge Airport or if you are travelling by train or bus to Sonsveien station. Taxi information can be found here. The local taxi service for Son is Follo taxi. Remember to ask for the price before you start the travel.
